The Above & Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) Scholarship

The Teens for Courage Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) Scholarship is for the student who deserves special recognition for their helpfulness, civility, and leadership in promoting healthy relationships. Students who have demonstrated behaviors of teamwork; effective communication with others and who have treated partners as equals regarding all things large and small. Scholarship recipients are recognized at the Teens for Courage Annual Teen Summit in Charlotte, NC.

Tiffany Jones

Myers Park High School

Tiffany Jones has done an outstanding job leading the Teens for Courage Club at Myers Park HS. She has grown the club from just a handful of students to a club with several active members. She has utilized social media to promote events and educate high school students about healthy relationship. Tiffany is a go-getter. She will contact adults to learn information needed to plan events to get more awareness out to the student body of Myers Park. She thinks outside the box to keep our members engaged and to help the community.

 

Johnathan Burch

Butler High School

Johnathan

Johnathan is the Captain of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Student Athlete Advisory Council for the 2021-2023 school year. He helped organize the district's inaugural student-athlete leadership summit in 2022. He is Butler High School's 2022-2023 Student Government President. He is the 2021 Founder of Butler High School's Pre-law Society and a  member of North Carolina's High School Mock Trial Program 2021 - 2023 and winner of the Best Witness Round 2 (North Carolina High School Mock Trial Competition) 2021. Johnathan won the Best Attorney Award for Salisbury Region (Round 1) at this year's North Carolina Mock Trial Competition Regionals at the Rowan County Courthouse in Salisbury.  This is why Johnathan had demonstrated his ability to go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty to promote healthy relationships.
